In a recent communication we let you know about the imminent addition of VAT to CON29R and CON29O searches. We have now received a further update that HM Revenue and Customs have given Local Authorities the option to delay the addition of VAT to these searches.
HMRC advised that:
"Where Local Authorities have advised they cannot make the deadline, they will need to advise when they can do so - but we expect full implementation by not later than 31 March 2017."
As a result there are three scenarios that now apply to CON29 changes:
VAT added from 1 January
A number of Local Authorities are going ahead with the addition of VAT to the CON29 in January. Find out here which Local Authorities have made the changes so far (list valid 16/01/2017).
Price increase on 1 January
Some Local Authorities have chosen not to apply VAT to the CON29 immediately, but will still increase their prices in January. These Local Authorities will then make another adjustment by 31 March.
VAT added by 31 March
We are aware that a large proportion of Local Authorities are now choosing to delay the VAT changes.
Please be assured that the pricing on the Geodesys ordering site will always adjust accordingly with any VAT changes, and that we will honour any fee that we display to you at time of ordering.
