Groundsure Floodview

Recent extreme weather events have demonstrated that flooding isn’t just restricted to those properties that are close to a river or the sea. A flood report is essential before deciding to go-ahead with a commercial property or development site purchase. The Groundsure Floodview report contains high quality data on different types of flooding with a fully interpreted risk assessment and view on insurability.  Flood risks are mapped on separate maps for clarity.

For areas over 10 hectares, additional fees will be required.  Please login for a quote or contact us.

Product Details

GroundSure Floodview is a fully interpreted commercial flood risk assessment including detailed guidance on flood risk and a view on the likely insurability of a commercial property based upon the latest data from the Environment Agency.

The information includes:

Key features

Why is this important?

Guidance on the risk of surface water (pluvial) flooding using datasets from JBA Consulting.

It is estimated that 60% to 70% of the 2007 floods were due to pluvial flooding.

Environment Agency data including:

  • tidal and fluvial flood risk data
  • flood zones and details of areas benefiting from flood defences
  • historic flood data
Key flood data from a government source.

The EA (2009) state that 1.4 million properties are at risk of flooding from rivers or the sea alone, and 1 million are at risk from both surface water and tidal flooding.
British Geological Survey groundwater flood data and geological indicators of flooding. Understanding the geological issues in the area helps to understand the overall risk of flooding to a property. For example, the permeability of the soil conditions will impact how susceptible it is to flooding.

Guidance is provided in a clear and succinct manner with separate maps to add clarity.
